Getting to Abbot Hall
From the South
Exit the M6 at junction 36 and follow the A590 to South Lakes. Take the South Kendal (A6) exit and follow the signs for Town Centre. Abbot Hall Art Gallery is the first right after the Parish Church. Kendal has a one way system so if you miss the turn, you need to loop around the town.
From the North
Exit the M6 at junction 39 and follow the A6 for Kendal. Once in Kendal follow signs for M6 junction 36 and A65. Keep right, follow the river over the bridge, keep right to Town Centre. Abbot Hall Art Gallery is the first right after the Parish Church. Kendal has a one ways system so if you miss the turn, you need to loop around the town.
The Abbot Hall Art Gallery operates a pay and display car park located between the Art Gallery and the Museum of Lakeland Life and Industry. Revenue from the car park supports the Art Gallery, Museum and care of the collections. We will refund the first hour’s parking on purchases of £5 or more at the Gallery and Museum Shops (excluding admissions).
On 8 and 9 September our car park will be closed for Lakes Alive celebrations.

Oxenholme: The Lake District is the nearest main-line railway station (less than 3 hours from London). A connecting train will bring you to Kendal Station. The station is one mile from the Art Gallery on a level walk along the river Kent.
