Life Drawing Like Rodin
Thursday 4 October, 7.00 - 9.00pm
Artist Catherine MacDiarmid will lead this life drawing workshop with a nude model, which will take inspiration from the first century Roman bust of Venus on loan from the British Museum in our Rodin: rethinking the fragment display.
Venus is a figure that has inspired artists like Rodin for centuries. In this session you’ll learn how to draw Venus like Rodin (who produced over 10,000 drawings in his lifetime) and master basic techniques. The workshop will begin in the Rodin gallery at Abbot Hall where participants will study the sculpture and create a pencil sketch, before heading down to The Bakestone café to complete their work. Wine, beer and light refreshments will be available to purchase in the café.
For beginners and artists alike, all materials are provided.
Tickets are £25 per adult. Maximum 20 people.
