This Cumbrian born conceptual artist now based in America, returned to Abbot Hall for a major exhibition of his work, specifically made as a response to the many diverse artworks in the gallery's collection. His installations explore the shifting notions of identity, belonging, boundaries and nationhood.
Social and political issues are explored, yet there is also a humorous side to Atkinson's work. An internationally acclaimed artist, Conrad Atkinson has exhibited in New York, Washington, London, Paris and Moscow.
