Andrzej Jackowski: The Remembered Present
23 October – 12 December 2009
Andrzej Jackowski established himself as a painter almost as soon as he left the Royal College of Art in the late 1970’s.
The show will feature many new paintings and drawings and a new set of prints created especially for Abbot Hall. Jackowski’s work makes spaces for and out of memories and desires. People, objects, animals &, buildings become containers, places of temporary refuge. Places that evoke the past but as well define and give form to the present.
