Saturday Art Club
First Saturday of Every Month, 10.30am - 1.30pm
Create your own artwork inspired by the exhibitions.
The activity takes place in the galleries on the first Saturday of every month. Inspired by our art exhibitions and facilitated by 2016 Cumbia Artist of the Year nominee, Hamish McLain, the ‘family art fun’ workshops will encourage hands-on making and accessible discussions about art. The sessions enliven the temporary exhibitions and enrich the understanding of exhibits. Children will explore the artworks and consider how the artist achieved various effects. They will draw on their own ideas and experiences of people, landscape and popular culture to create personal responses to the artwork.
The workshops will cater to a variety of age ranges and abilities and are designed to appeal to the whole family.
Drop in for 20 minutes or stay for the full 3 hours.
Entrance for children is FREE with adult admission (adults must remain on site either in the galleries or in the café).
