Robin Ironside: Inner Eye
16 April - 21 June 2014
Until a recent retrospective at Pallant House Gallery, Chichester and the Grosvenor Museum, Chester, Robin Ironside (1912-65) was a frequently overlooked figure – a truly visionary artist whose brilliant, obsessively-worked watercolours and paintings were drawn from literary sources, music and theatre and, on occasion, the influence of hallucinogenic drugs. This small exhibition will present a concentrated retrospective of the artist’s career, focusing on some of his most intense and inventive works.
